DP0215. The Causeway by David Pentland. <p> Cauqigny, Normandy, 6th June 1944.  A mixed force of the just 8 US 82nd Division paratroopers under the command of Lt. Louis Levy found themselves defending the strategic crossing over the flooded Merderet river, against the determined attacks of the German 91st Division. Despite being supported by captured Renault tanks the Panzer Grenadiers assaults were repelled, until at last out of ammunition the paratoopers were forced to retreat. <b><p>Limited edition of 30 giclee art prints.  <p> Image size 16 inches x 11 inches (41cm x 28cm)
