Craftsman Roy Bishop *Signature Value : £25 | Landing at Gold beach on D-Day + 3, he served in a Light Aid Detachment of the 49th Division (Polar Bear) as part of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. These Light Aid Detachments provided dedicated logistical support to Armour and Infantry units handling the repair of all weapons, optics and vehicles including tanks and armoured cars. |
Sergeant Ed Pearce *Signature Value : £20 | Part of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, he landed at Gold beach on 2nd July with the 16th Vehicle Cpy, 21st Army Group. The Group not only concentrated on beach maintenance after the initial Allied landings, but the Vehicle Cpys were also responsible for the supply of all vehicles, including Tanks and Armoured cars, to the entire Normandy Theatre. |
